The icon's constitution expresses the purism from the South-North orientation of the river Côa, and it also represents its connection with multiple small regions from Beira Alta. 

Sons do Côa not only emphasizes the transparency and legacy of nature but also communicates the mission of the festival: bringing excellence in music to everyone.
